We support an inclusive Anglican school statement of personal faith and we call on the Anglican Diocese of Sydney to amend the current statement to reflect the wording used prior to 2019. Clause 2(d) of the statement should read "...that the faith produces obedience in accordance with God's word, including sexual faithfulness in marriage...", removing the addition, "between a man and a woman".

Our supporters are current and former students, parents, staff, community members and constituents of Anglican schools. We do not support staff of Anglican schools being asked to sign a statement of personal faith that limits marriage to a man and a woman. We do not support any form of discrimination, despite some schools having exemptions from discrimination legislation.

We aim to raise the next generation of inclusive, accepting and supportive people who value the rich diversity that all people bring to our community. We want our children to espouse the values our schools promote, and this cannot be done with the current wording of the personal statement of faith.
