Support Youth Football with City Assistance

The Issue

Youth football is more than just a sport; it is a vital part of our community, fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits among our young people. However, many little league football teams struggle to access the necessary resources and funding needed to thrive. It's time for our city to take an active role in supporting these invaluable programs.

By providing financial support and resources, our city can play an essential role in nurturing the development of our youth, ensuring they have the opportunities they need to succeed both on and off the field. This support could come in the form of grants, field maintenance resources, or sponsorships that allow teams to purchase equipment, uniforms, and pay for transportation and league fees.

Cities with robust support for youth sports have seen significant benefits, including decreases in juvenile delinquency rates and improvements in academic performance among student-athletes. According to the Aspen Institute, communities with active sports programs report higher academic success and better attendance in schools.

Parents and locals have long helped pay and support our league , and a lot of surrounding areas have the support from there city. Our town makes a tremendous amount of money from tourism, attractions , etc. These children range from the ages of 5-12 years old , These children are the future of sports and success. These are your local children and families , Yet these are the ones they refuse to help.

The Sevierville Little League field has been around for generations , helping all the children in our area become the athletes that go on to college sports and sometimes professional sports . The high school has all the support in the world , but you have to understand where those children got their start. The field has always had funding from parents and locals businesses to keep it going and yet every year more and more children show up ready to begin the journey of sports. This field and its members mean a great deal to the community and the community should reflect that !

Funding youth football is an investment in our community's future, providing young athletes with constructive activities and life skills that lead to positive outcomes. It is crucial we build a strong foundation for our children through accessible sports programs.

Sign this petition to encourage our city leaders to prioritize support for little league football, ensuring our youth have the opportunities and resources they deserve.
