Sean Power started this petition to Hull

120 Nantasket Avenue is a property in dire need of improvement, one that should be a shining example to all that Hull and her residents value - forward-thinking, self-sufficient, hard-working people ready to embrace a new economy.

Local residents Sean Power and Jeff Shaheen, owners of Latitude 42, have a proposal before the town to convert this long-empty building into a medical cannabis business that will create much needed revenue and jobs for the town of Hull.  The economic benefits to the town and its residents are extensive, including:

  • $3-5 million in LOCAL construction jobs as the team develops the property, restoring and beautifying the gateway to Hull.  Almost everyone knows a local carpenter, roofer, plumber, electrician, landscaper. They are our fathers and daughters and classmates and neighbors.
  • $2 million a year in approximately 30 new, high-paying, year-round, LOCAL jobs to operate the medical agriculture and clinic.
  • Patients who are higher-income, men and women in their late 40s and 50s who will visit our center much like someone visiting a Pharmacy.  Our patients will be shopping year round at Hull stores and restaurants, providing much needed non summer support of the Hull economy.

In addition to the real economic benefits to the local economy in Hull noted above, we anticipate that Latitude 42 will be the largest private, non-hospitality enterprise in Hull.  Our projected $300,000 in annual tax revenue to Hull will help support local budgets that have been decimated in recent months.

The medical cannabis research and development industry is an emerging business sector - already gaining momentum in 33 states and the District of Columbia. As the federal government continues to introduce legislation to enable more opportunity for research, this type of facility will only be more valuable for the future of our community.

We must diversify the type of businesses we attract and support local jobs, local residents and the future of our town. This opportunity will not happen again!

Thank you for your support!
