The Issue
Thank you all for viewing this petition. This has been created this to assist in the efforts to bring our nightclub back to 214 West Commercial Row, Reno NV 89501. It has been a long, painful process for us to bring this iconic nightlife venue back to life. As you may or may not know, there have been many changes within the city of Reno that makes it much more difficult for small businesses (especially those in nightlife & live entertainment) to open and remain in business. This has most likely been a factor in the closure of several nightlife & entertainment venues in Reno's recent past. One big part of this is the city allowing for public comment regarding the opening and operation of the business. This allows for neighboring residential dwellings the option to speak in favor or in opposition of the project. As a large number of the current comments are opposing the project, it is up to us to reach out to our community to give those who are in favor of this project a voice. The opposing parties (all from nearby residential) do not want us to reopen as they are concerned about excessive noise within close proximity to them. It is unfortunate that people move into the heart of downtown (especially an entertainment district) and complain about existing business's noise. These parties still oppose of our reopening even after taking into account that this venue has provided nightlife/entertainment to the city of Reno for over fifteen years and had undergone extensive sound/acoustical treatment to the interior. Regardless of the comments, being a good neighbor to surrounding businesses and residential is and always will be one of our top priorities. Our goal is simple. Give the people in favor of this project a voice, show the city that there aren't only opposing parties, and prove there are members of this community that want us to be able to reopen. For those that made memories with us in the past, you know what we were. For anyone who didn't get to experience our venue when it was in operation, here are a few details that you may not know. In our earlier days, we were the venue that brought electronic dance music to Reno. When we started, everything we offered was so new and foreign to the area. Overtime, our community was able to further grasp the truly unique nature of the venue, its energy and its extraordinary value to the city. Over the years, we hosted countless special events and international touring artists (most of which had never performed in Reno). Our vision was always focused on the same idea. Create an enjoyable, safe and unique space for the community to come together, express themselves and enjoy the magic of music together. We hope to reopen in the coming months and get back to making memories with you all. Please help us continue our efforts to doing all that we can for our communities nightlife and music scene. We can't let Reno lose its flavor and become more commercialized than it already has.
The show must go on...
PLEASE NOTE A DONATION IS NOT NECESSARY.
