To everyone who signed our petition, shared kind words, donated or simply believed in what we are trying to build in the forest… thank you. Your support is making a real difference.

We are incredibly excited to share that The Fortis Collective is now officially in conversation with Tshwane regarding the possibility of adopting the pine forest as a recognised community space.

This is a hugely positive step forward.

If successful, this partnership would help alleviate the ongoing stress and uncertainty surrounding repeated applications for use of the forest, as well as the significant fees associated with hosting community events and wellness gatherings in the space. More importantly, it would establish a meaningful and collaborative relationship focused on protecting, maintaining and uplifting this beautiful natural environment for everyone to enjoy.

It would also mean that The Fortis Collective would carry an official responsibility in helping care for the forest, ensuring it remains clean, safe, active and full of life for the wider community.

What started as a neglected and forgotten space is slowly transforming into something truly special — a place of connection, wellness, creativity, nature and community.

This progress would simply not be possible without the voices of those who stood beside us and showed Tshwane that this space matters. Every signature on that petition helped demonstrate just how many people believe in the potential of this forest and the importance of preserving and activating public spaces in a positive way.

We still have a journey ahead, but this is an incredibly encouraging step and we are feeling hopeful about what the future may hold.

Thank you for continuing to walk this path with us. 🌲🤍
