Can you help us, friend?

Our May 21 #ClimateStrike is just under 6 weeks away! To make this strike as big as possible, can you chip in to support me and other students to join the #FundOurFutureNotGas strikes on May 21?

I’m emailing you from Brisbane, where my community has been hit by terrifying floods. Just like last week, there were mass evacuations. The next week - it was too hot for me to leave the house. Now, I’m watching my community in fear. I’m watching the dams dry up. I'm watching climate change ruin lives. I watch as our government funds more gas projects, and I know I need to fight back.

We rely entirely on genuine donations from everyday people like you to support our strikes and actions. Even though our actions are student-run, they still have expenses. We want to do things properly, and pay local Elders to Welcome us to Country, to get material so our banners look awesome, to get a megaphone for chanting.

Will you chip in so we can fight for our futures? We want to reach out to as many people as we can on May 21 and any amount would help! 

On May 21, we have an opportunity to show the government we want a safe future and not more gas - but we need your support.

We are striking to demand:

1. Resource Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led solutions that guarantee land rights and care for country.
2. Fund the creation of jobs that fast track solutions to the climate crisis and help communities recover
3. Fund projects that transition our economy and communities to 100% renewable energy by 2030, through expanded public ownership.
