Hi friend,

Gas is a fossil fuel. It’s dirty, it’s dangerous - and it’s contributing to the climate crisis.

The government is considering handing out billions of dollars to a massive gas expansion plan. Gas production releases not only the carbon dioxide we know is fueling climate damage, but also enormous amounts of methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas 84 times more polluting than carbon dioxide,[1] and it’s extraction can poison not only the local water supply but all of the atmosphere.

What’s more, the gas industry has a long history of destroying land and culture without the consent of Traditional Custodians. Allowing for this extraction is unconscionable.

We have a chance to take action. Gomeroi and Garrwa/Yanyuwa Traditional Custodians and Rural Strikers have a message for you on how we can call for change together!

Watch and share our new launch video!

Now is our opportunity to publicly oppose the government’s dirty gas expansion plans and change the course of Australia’s climate policies. We can use this moment to #BuildOurFuture - and ensure that gas has no place in it.

We’re ready to stand with the incredible Narrabri activists in the video and others on the frontlines of the gas battles.

Can you share their message with ten of your friends to help build momentum for the global day of action on September 25?

Already, we’re taking action against the government’s not-so-secret gas agenda. School Strikers from Narrabri have worked alongside Gomeroi Traditional Custodians to oppose the Narrabri coal seam gas project, and are standing strong for their country and community. They’re taking powerful, united community action - and on September 25, we have the opportunity to join them.

We’re super excited to share this new video message with you! Will you share it with ten of your friends?

With hope,

Lydia, School Striker from Sydney

P.S. If you want to be involved in this global day of action but aren’t sure where to start, you can RSVP to a special webinar next Thursday August 13 to learn how to organise your own incredible September 25 action.
