The rumours are true: in breaking news this week[1] the national COVID-19 Commission is recommending that our Government throw public money away on a dangerous gas expansion plan that will:

• Underwrite expansion of gas projects through tax incentives and financial support
• Cut “green” and “red” tape to increase gas extraction
• Scrap moratoriums on gas that are in place to protect our climate, water and land

It’s a disaster.

That’s why on Friday September 25, School Striker together with First Nations communities, workers and everyday Australians are taking action to demand that the Federal Government reject the advice of the COVID-19 Commission, and rule out spending public money on gas and other damaging fossil fuel projects.
