After closing down my dream coffee shop, I self-converted an iconic Italian Piaggio Ape into a mobile coffee van — it became my way of keeping the dream alive when everything else felt uncertain.

Macchiato was never just about coffee. For me, it was always about community connection and caring for you.

From the very first cup of coffee brewed in Clissold Park, you welcomed macchiato in a way I never expected. You are amazing, and that support gave me real hope — a reminder that there are genuine people out there who truly value what you build and give it meaning.

Simple moments that stayed with me, and they will stay forever — kids running up excited to say hello,  dogs waiting patiently for a biscuit… people stopping not just for a cup of coffee but for a quick chat or a smile.

Those moments meant everything.

Over time, Macchiato became part of hundreds of people’s routines — a small but meaningful part of their day in Clissold Park.

It became something that felt like home. A place full of shared everyday moments, kindness, and connection — something I once had, lost, and found again through you.

Some of you shared how much macchiato meant, and how we made a difference in each other’s lives. We were there through everything — the rain, the wind, the sunny days, the smiles — supporting each other through it all.

Macchiato only became what it was because of you. You gave it life, warmth, and purpose.

Because you are amazing!

After my licence was terminated and I had to leave Clissold Park and the Stoke Newington community, many of you reached out — and you still do — asking if there’s any chance I can come back.

It has been 8 months since I left Clissold Park, and I’ve tried many times to find a way back, but no real option has been given.

Now, it comes down to you.

This is a community space, and your voice should be part of decisions like this.

You hold the power to bring macchiato back —to make it part of your day again, by brewing coffee in Clissold Park and being part of the Newington community.
