🐓 Tune In Today at 5PM EST: Live Radio Segment on US1Radio.com

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to share that I’ll be speaking live today at 5PM EST on US 1 Radio about the ongoing conversation around Key West’s free-roaming chickens. You can stream the segment online here: https://us1radio.com

This is a chance to speak from the heart about why this issue matters—not just for the chickens, but for our community values.

Let’s clarify a few things:

Recently, the City released a statement saying that there is no current vote scheduled and no plan to hire chicken catchers. I appreciate that transparency and the City’s acknowledgment of public concern.

However, we also know that back in April, a commissioner requested a legal memo exploring a public bounty system and other control measures. While no final decision has been made, the fact that these options were being explored is concerning—and it’s why so many of us have spoken up.

This movement is not about blame. It’s about accountability and compassion. The chickens are part of our cultural identity and deserve humane treatment—not silence or removal.

That’s why I’m respectfully asking:

➡️If ecological damage, sanitation, or property destruction are being cited, can the City please provide the data to support those claims?
➡️And can we move toward transparent, community-based, non-lethal solutions that align with the soul of Key West?

This is about more than birds—it’s about how we make decisions as a city. Please tune in, share the broadcast, and keep speaking up.

With deep gratitude,
Isabella Warner
