This Motion,  proposed by Councillor Helen Crawford (Aird and Loch Ness Ward), is our chance to prevent detrimental impacts on our communities and landscapes. It is our plea to the Highland Council and all councillors to prioritise the well-being of our local environment, communities and tourism economy over fleeting, profit-driven decisions.

This non-partisan Motion seeks to help communities more effectively respond to the huge volume of infrastructure applications and energy developments we are currently experiencing in the Highlands, by providing a real time map of all major energy developments, by calling for an end to ‘salami slicing’ on the part of developers, and by better resourcing Community Councils to meet the demands being placed on them.
