Support the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act to become a National Federal law

The Issue

Our beloved son, Mason, tragically passed away because there was no Automated External Defibrillator (AED) available when he needed it most. Mason's only chance of survival was a shock from an AED, a chance that was cruelly denied by the absence of this critical device.

AEDs are known to be life-saving devices that can deliver a swift shock to the heart in cases of sudden cardiac arrest, greatly enhancing the survival rate when used promptly. Unfortunately, many public and private places in our country still do not have AEDs readily available, and because of this, lives like Mason's continue to be needlessly lost.

The Mason Sells AED Coordination Act is designed to ensure that AEDs are available in all public and certain private facilities across the nation. Making this act a federal law will mandate the installation of AEDs, establish maintenance protocols, and ensure proper training is provided so individuals are empowered to use AEDs when emergencies arise. It will save countless lives by reducing the response time to cardiac incidents, giving victims their best chance at survival.

According to the American Heart Association, for every minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of survival decreases by about 10%. With AEDs being so easy to use, even bystanders can provide potentially life-saving assistance in an emergency. National AED programs, like the one proposed by the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act, have been shown to triple the survival rates in cardiac arrest situations.

We have the power to prevent the loss of more lives by making AEDs a standard fixture across the United States. Mason's story is a painful reminder of what is at stake when these devices are not accessible. Let's honor his memory and protect the future of countless others by transforming this act from a proposal into a reality.

Please sign this petition to urge lawmakers to enact the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act as a federal law. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
