Hello Latin America! Hello world! We are a group of young environmentalists from Latin America who year after year and side by side work at the RCOY Latin America summit where we converge our demands, doing so this year through the declaration "From Protest to Proposal", a document that calls decision makers and large companies to action on climate change with 10 recommendations for national governments in Latin America and 10 recommendations for large global emitters.

That is why we have started this campaign, looking for young people from all over the region and citizens of the world, to join us and support us with their signatures to present this declaration in national and international forums to world leaders, as it will be in the next COP27 climate change conference.

Science has already confirmed the red alert for humanity. However, despite being responsible for 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions, Latin America is highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and it is imperative that the population is informed, aware and prepared to adapt to these consequences and move towards sustainability, leaving no one behind.

In this context and within the framework of the 2022 version of the Regional Conference of Latin American Youth on Climate Change (RCOY), we channeled the demands of the youth under the document "From Protest to Proposal", a declaration that was promoted through an unprecedented collaborative process that began in June 2022 and culminated in a 3-day hybrid event in Costa Rica, with more than 300 young people from across the region attending in person, plus hundreds more who participated virtually.

But that's not all! RCOY Latin America is not just a conference, it is the largest community of young environmentalists in the region. Part of the RCOY Network are +200 youth organizations working on climate change, +210 initiatives led by RCOY member organizations and more than +10,000 young people from all over Latin America involved in RCOY member projects. Our goal is to reach 100,000 signatures by COP27, the conference that in November will bring together all the world's governments to continue discussing how to tackle climate change.
