Support the GBH&BT Extension to Piping Rock

The Issue

Please support the construction of the trail shown on the attached map.  It can be funded as part of the 2024 Harris County Precinct 4 "Places4People" (P4P) program.

This trail will eventually enable connection of the extremely popular Terry Hershey/George Bush/Cullen Park/Mason Creek/Willow Fork Drainage District trail system (over 40 miles combined) to the Brays Bayou trail system which will run about 30 miles from Archbishop Fiorenza Park to the Houston Ship Channel.  Along the way several high activity centers are connected, such as the Energy Corridor district, the Houston Medical Center, the University of Houston, Rice University, Houston China Town, and Hermann Park.  Many Harris County parks in the immediate area (T. Hershey, McClendon, Fiorenza, Bush, Driscoll and Storey) will be connected.

Significant public support is needed for projects to be funded.  If you would like to see this trail built, please sign this petition.  It will be used as demonstration of public support of a P4P application.

And don't forget to support this other nearby trail: Connect Addicks and Barker with the Cullen Park Path

(History: This segment was originally proposed as part of the Westheimer Access Trail 2022 Federal Lands Access Program application, which was unsuccessful.  This new scope is aligned with Harris County Precinct 4's objectives.)
