The Forster-Tuncurry community is a regional community in crisis. As the only place-based service open to the whole community, Forster Neighbourhood Centre has been inundated with an increase in both the number of clients and the level of complexity presenting at our service.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!! Please sign this petition to help raise awareness around the lack of sustainable funding for services like ours that help meet the needs of those who fall through the cracks in our community.

***As a result, from 25 November 2024, Forster Neighbourhood Centre will close its central community hub to the public on Mondays. This is an essential step to protect the well-being of our staff and volunteers from the increased demand without the required funding to respond appropriately. This is a 25% reduction in service availability for our regional community in crisis.***

The Forster Neighbourhood Centre requires an investment of $100,000 per annum to restore our central community hub to 5 days/week that will directly fund: 
1. A Crisis Counsellor to respond to vulnerable community members presenting in crisis with complex issues.
2. The ongoing sustainability of the community hub operation as the place-based infrastructure to link community members with specialist services to meet their needs.

We strongly support Forster Neighbourhood Centre as our central community hub in Forster/Tuncurry. 
We the undersigned, demand Forster Neighbourhood receive core funding to restore services to 5 days/week to our regional community as a matter of urgency.
