Craft brewers add $569 million to Connecticut's economy every year. With the farm brewery bill (H.B. 5928), state lawmakers have a chance to help this growing industry. Today, our neighboring states of New York and Massachusetts are winning the competition for tomorrow's good-paying craft brewery jobs in part because they have farm brewery laws on the books. In Connecticut, we don't have a farm brewery law on the books, and that's why this legislation is so necessary. When a farm and brewery partner up, it supports local businesses, creates markets for local goods, and creates homegrown jobs. That’s a win-win for Connecticut.
