In 2014, Lawrence, Kansas won a $500,000 Art Place America grant for the artistic revitalization of East Ninth Street from downtown Lawrence to the Warehouse Arts District in East Lawrence. After two years of public input resulting in approvals from all three city-appointed boards reviewing the project, the Lawrence City Commission is undecided about whether to accept this grant and to fund the artistic revitalization of East Ninth Street. We support this use of private funding for public artwork and we need your help.
