This petition seeks to gather support for the creation of a local mountain bike trail park at the previously sited ‘Camp LizEd’, Wilson Road Wangandary 15 minutes from the CBD of Wangaratta. Mountain biking has become a popular and a growing activity in Wangaratta. Though there are limited opportunities for riders to come together and enjoy the sport in an organised manner due to the distinct lack of formally constructed and approved MTB infrastructure within the local government area.  

The Wilson Road MTB park will be designed to appeal to a wide range of MTB enthusiasts. Strengths and opportunities of this project include:

Development of much needed formal mountain bike infrastructure within the Rural City of Wangaratta

• Provision of quality MTB riding opportunities and facilities for residents of all ages, new and existing mountain bike enthusiasts and tourists interested in riding and visiting our region.
• Development of MTB park designed to the support skills development of our junior riding community & facilitate on-site organised events
• The proposed site will include both Green (beginner/novice) and Blue (intermediate) trails. A dirt pump track, jumps lines & skills park which will be utilised as part of the formal junior development ride program.
