Support the Continued Beautification of Spenard's 1115 Chugach Way
The Issue
I support Variance UDC Case 2024-0063 for a 6ft fence and gate and small 8ft section and the request to allow historical use as a Trailer/Camper Park.
As a resident of the Spenard Community, in Anchorage, AK. I have personally witnessed the transformation of our community through the cleanup and beautification efforts at 1115 Chugach Way Trailer Court. Old trailers have been removed and junk and debris cleared away.
I’m in favor of a beautiful 6ft wooden fence that stands where once there was only ugly and falling apart fence allowing a clear view of Junk and attraction for Thieves and Drug Addicts. These changes not only make our neighborhood more appealing but also safer and increases property values.
The improvements to this trailer court are a testament to what can be achieved when neighbors take responsibility for their own property and take matters into their own hands without expecting a hand out. However, we need more support to continue these efforts and further enhance our community.
According to data from the Municipality of Anchorage's Community Development Department, well-maintained neighborhoods can increase property values by up to 20%. This not only benefits homeowners but also contributes positively towards local tax revenues which fund public services.
We urge the Urban Design Commission to allow the request for variance 2024-0063
And we urge for approval of appeal regarding the use of property and to allow historical rights as a Trailer Park otherwise currently known as a Camper Park.
We ask Spenard Community Council, Municipal of Anchorage and Land and Planning to allow this changes and show their support for these improvements without hindering the efforts of property owners such as 1115 Chugach Way Trailer Court.
