The issue

For many years, I have had the privilege of running a kiosk in the heart of Melbourne greeting people morning, noon and night on Elizabeth st. This business is not just a source of livelihood for me; it is a vibrant part of the local community. It represents years of hard work, dedication, and passion for serving the people of Melbourne. My kiosk is more than a retail outlet; it provides a place for community interaction and delivers quality and friendly service to both locals and tourists alike.

Recently, the City of Melbourne council has decided to put this kiosk up for public tender. This decision has put the future of my business at risk and has deeply concerned me due to its potential impact on my life and the community I serve. Being forced to compete, potentially, against larger entities for the lease could mean the closure of a beloved local establishment that is treasured by many.

I need your support to demonstrate to the City of Melbourne council that my kiosk is a valued part of the community that deserves to remain in operation as is. Keeping the kiosk could ensure continuous support for the local community, maintain jobs, and preserve a piece of Melbourne’s charm, history and the best Bread and Music of course!

Please consider supporting this cause by signing the petition to show the council that we stand together in favor of this small, local business and the prosperity it brings to Melbourne. Every signature counts!

Much love, Bazza Breadsticks
