Support the approval of the Special Use Permit

The Issue

URGENT! URGENT! URGENT!

CHRIST’S CHURCH IS UNDER ATTACK.

OPPOSERS WANT TO STOP THE CONSTRUCTION OF A HOUSE OF WORSHIP.

Sign the petition today to tell the Board of County Supervisors of Prince William County to approve the permit for the construction of a House of Worship on Davis Ford Road in Woodbridge.

  • The Planning Office of Prince William County is recommending approval.
  • The Planning Commissioners have recommended approval.
  • The last hurdle to climb is for the Board of County Supervisors to vote to approve.

Tell the Board of County Supervisors to approve SUP 2020-00019.

THE WHAT

  • The Lord has blessed us with 4.3+ acres of land in the Occoquan District in Prince William County and we intend to build God a house of worship on the parcel of land.
  • A place where countless lives would be saved, transformed, and empowered through the name of Jesus.
  • This new house of worship would be called TRANSFORMATION TEMPLE.

THE WHERE

  • This facility would be located on 5451 Davis Ford in Woodbridge, Virginia.

THE WHY

  • We need the Board of County Supervisors to vote “YES.”
  • There is strength in numbers.
  • We need the help of all in the faith community resident in Prince William County to voice their support by signing the petition.

Remember: “if one member suffers, all suffer” (1 Corinthians 12:26).

THE MISINFORMATION PEDDLED BY THE OPPOSERS

  • We have met several times with members of the community and all their comments have been included in our plans.
  • However, all they say is “we don’t want you here.”
  • Sometimes, they imply we are criminals and other times, they tell us our presence will lower their property values.
  • All engineering and design requirements by the County have been satisfied.

The following are misinformation being peddled against the Church project.

Misinformation 1, SEPTIC: That the proposed septic system is grossly inadequate.

The truth: The County and State Engineers have approved our septic system. Actually, Virginia Department of Health has issued the permit to install the septic system.

Misinformation 2, PROPERTY VALUES: That property values will be lowered because of the presence of the Church.

The truth: Research shows that a Church building in a community generally have a positive impact on property values because it sends a message of stability, safety, and sacredness.

Misinformation 3, TRAFFIC: That the Church will exacerbate traffic problems and “cause unsafe traffic conditions.”

The truth: Virginia Department of Transportation and Prince William County Department of Transportation have endorsed our plan and concluded that the presence of the Church will have absolutely no adverse effect on traffic.

Misinformation 4, OVERSIZED DEVELOPMENT: That the proposed building size is 5-10 times larger than allowable limits.

The truth: The minimum Lot size the County requires for this type of use is 2 acres. Our Lot size of 4.3+ acres is more than twice the minimum required.

Misinformation 5, OCCOQUAN RESERVOIR PROTECTION AREA: That the Church will be right on the Occoquan Reservoir Protection Area. That salt/chemicals used to treat the parking lot will flow to degrade water quality in streams feeding the Reservoir.

The truth: The Church is not located adjacent to the Reservoir. Run off from the Church travels nearly 3 miles before reaching the Reservoir.

Misinformation 6, ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCE AREA: That over half the parcel is an Environmental Resource Area, which will be irreplaceably damaged.

The truth: The site has only a little over an acre that is an Environmental Resource Area. Also, The Comprehensive Plan states that The Environmental Resource Area can only be damaged when steep slopes and erodible soils are associated with perennial streams or intermittent streams. Our land does not have perennial streams or intermittent streams on it. Hence, there are no issues with The Environmental Resource Area.

Misinformation 7, STORMWATER RUNOFF: That the Stormwater Facility we are proposing is inadequate due to runoff.

The truth: We will be installing the Stormwater Management Facility in accordance with the law. The County requires a 10-year Stormwater Management. That is what we will install. Also, we have an independent Stormwater Management Opinion Letter from Soil Consultant Engineering, a reputable company in Prince William County that has examined our plan and endorsed it.

Confirmed victory
