I was very upset to see in the news and on a Change.org petition that there are some teachers and other people who claim to be part of the school community that are out there disparaging my former Principal Mr. Baker, voting no confidence in his leadership and saying that he doesn’t have the best interests of students in mind. To those people in the news media, and to the person who started that petition…you left off the most important stakeholders, the STUDENTS. 

So, WE, the undersigned current and former STUDENTS of Sweet Home HS, formally present this petition IN SUPPORT OF SHHS PRINCIPAL MR. DEREK BAKER! If you had asked any of us or talked to us in the first place before you started trying to get rid of Mr. Baker, you would know that what you’re doing is a terrible mistake and a disservice to the HS and to all of the students! It’s just wrong that a few unhappy people with nothing better to do get to destroy this man’s career with no factual information, just a lot of made up nonsense and generic claims. 

We know you’re not going to be back at the HS Mr. Baker, but we love you, and we want every other place in the country to know how much we appreciate you!. So to everyone reading this…please sign and leave your supportive comments for Mr. Baker. It makes me sad to say this, but another school or district will be lucky to have you!
