Being a resident of Winneshiek County, I've had the opportunity to witness Sheriff Dan Marx's dedicated leadership and his commitment to maintaining the safety of our community. Recently, our sheriff pledged to uphold the Constitution while collaborating with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. However, this honorable stand appears to have placed him under the scrutiny of our Iowa Attorney General, a situation biasedly orchestrated by Governor Kim Reynolds that could even affect our county's funding.

Living under Sheriff Marx's leadership, we've enjoyed the liberty and protection only a principled county sheriff can provide. Having a leader who respects and adheres to the Constitution is fundamental to maintaining the security and harmony in our communities. His commitment to collaborating with national law enforcement agencies while ensuring adherence to the Constitution is a strong testament to our sheriff's admirable dedication to justice.

However, such commitment shouldn't warrant threats of withdrawing our county's funding, as issued by Governor Reynolds.
