Dear everyone
This is it. The new Sainsbury's contracts will be going live from Sunday 23rd September, meaning me and almost 9,000 of my colleagues will take home pay cuts of up to £3,000 per year.
You might have heard this week of staff in your local stores leaving the organisation. People like Paul who has worked for Sainsbury’s for 29 years. He describes his new contract as 'diabolical', read his story here:

Not everyone is able to leave as we need a regular income to keep the roof above our heads or feel too old to be job hunting but many of my longstanding colleagues up and down the country have decided enough is enough and have stepped down from the company and job that they love.
This Tuesday 11th September, Siobhain McDonagh MP brought our case to Parliament once again, this time at a debate on the Economic Justice Commission recommendations regarding worker's rights with Sainsbury's used as an example of bad practice. You can watch the debate here: https://goo.gl/vB7ZfY or read herehttps://www.theyworkforyou.com/whall/?id=2018-09-11a.293.2
It is sheer arrogance of Sainsbury's to ignore the concerns of over 100 other MPs, the Prime Minister, the 9,000 staff members losing money and of course, the 125,000 amazing individuals who have signed this petition. It seems all they have offered is a stock answer that raises more questions than it answers.
Sainsbury's- a reputation that took 125 years to build into one of the most trusted supermarket brands has only taken Mike "in the money" Coupe 18 months to destroy for short term profit and with a staggering £3.4m personal pay packet.
This is, as my former colleague Paul rightly points out "diabolical"
As always please keep up the pressure everyone for a final push before it's too late. Please keep on writing to Sainsbury's and Mike Coupe (mike.coupe@sainsburys.co.uk) and your MPs. Also keep the pressure on social media @sainsburys #workwellforless
