Hello Commissioner Beam Furr,

Dear reps,

I have been completely distraught, and disheartened by the events of this past Sunday Nov 25th, as you may have heard (hopefully) I have written this petition to the florida State legislature, copying all the Florida State Senators, and State House Representatives of the districts in south Florida with the most concentration of cyclist. My hope is that if you are a cyclist, pedestrian, or even a motorist to count with your support to effect a change in Florida law by showing these state legislators how important it is that you are safe while on the road.

I hope to count with the support of Broward county in the form of advocating for this change that will make a safer transit system for us all motorist, cyclist, and other vulnerable road users. Please support our petition and reach out to these legislators asking their support… it would make a big impact coming from county officials!

We are asking for:
A safe passing distant and speed.
The banning of “handheld” cellular devices while operating a motor vehicle. (You will still use your sulfone through your cars bluetooth system but not with your hands while you are the driver)
The treatment of these violation with the severity of a DIU.
