Support Safer and Improved Access to New Life Christian Church

Support Safer and Improved Access to New Life Christian Church
The issue
New Life Christian Church (formerly Blacktown Christian Reformed Church) has been a cornerstone of the Woodcroft and Blacktown community since the 1950s. As both the church and the local area have grown, it has become a vibrant and welcoming hub—open seven days a week and serving people of all ages and backgrounds through worship, community events, and support programs.
However, many members of our congregation and the wider community face ongoing difficulties accessing the church due to high traffic volumes and the absence of a safe, designated turning lane. Approaching the church from the western side of Richmond Road is particularly unsafe and inconvenient. Without a dedicated right-turn lane or direct entry point, drivers are forced to navigate through neighbouring suburban streets and already congested intersections. These detours not only cause frustration and delays but also increase the risk of accidents and place unnecessary strain on local roads.
This issue affects more than just regular churchgoers. Families with young children, elderly residents, visitors, and those attending events or seeking midweek support are all impacted by the current access limitations. A safe and straightforward entry point is essential to ensure that our church remains open, accessible, and welcoming to everyone in the community.
Installing a designated right-turn lane would significantly reduce traffic risk, improve flow, and provide safer, more direct access to the church. It’s a simple but vital improvement that would benefit the safety, wellbeing, and connectivity of our entire neighbourhood.
Let’s work together to make our streets safer and more accessible for all.
