The Issue

The nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth are the frontline caregivers for our community. Every day, they work tirelessly to keep patients safe, deliver high-quality care, and meet the growing healthcare needs of our region.

Right now, these nurses are fighting for a fair contract — one that ensures safe staffing levels, competitive wages, and improved earned time offerings to support their well-being and the sustainability of our hospital.

Without fair staffing and fair compensation, our nurses cannot continue to meet the needs of our community. They deserve a contract that values their dedication and provides them with the resources they need not just to survive, but to thrive — and to ensure every patient receives the best care possible.

We call on Kevin Coughlin, President of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth, and Donna Doherty, Chief Nursing Officer, to take swift action to:

  • Guarantee safe staffing levels that protect patient care;
  • Provide fair and competitive wages that reflect the value of nurses’ work;

  • Strengthen earned time offerings to support nurses’ health, well-being, and retention.

The time to act is now. Our nurses have always been there for us — it’s time for us to stand up for them.

Add your name today to show your support for the BID-Plymouth nurses and demand a fair contract that strengthens patient care and supports our healthcare heroes!
