Rowley Public Library is joining with the Haverhill and Wilmington Public Libraries on June 10th to present “Dishing Out Drag” hosted by Giganta Smalls. She will be talking about her life as a drag performer and may provide tips on make-up and costume. This event is for teens age 13 to 18.

There is a petition circulating calling for the cancellation of the event and termination of current library leadership. The petition grossly mischaracterizes the subject matter and infers the event is contributing to the “over sexualization of our children”. This is solely due to the event being hosted by a drag queen, rather than the actual content of the event.
