The Issue

We believe professionally run bird of prey displays and other licensed educational animal experiences can play an important role in educating the public about wildlife, conservation and animal welfare.

Many attendees at the Canal Festival enjoyed the display and saw first-hand the care and professionalism of the handlers. Responsible exhibitors are licensed, regulated and place animal welfare at the heart of what they do.

Rather than banning these displays outright, we ask Leighton-Linslade Town Council to continue offering them where they meet all legal welfare standards and are delivered by reputable organisations.

We support informed choice, education and balanced decision-making that reflects the views of the whole community, not just one campaign.

We therefore ask the Council to continue considering responsible live animal displays at future community events.

"This petition is not against animal welfare. It is in support of responsible, licensed educational displays that promote conservation and public understanding while maintaining high welfare standards."
