For years, Senator Rand Paul warned that Dr. Anthony Fauci and his inner circle were not fully honest with Congress or the American people about NIH-funded coronavirus research, gain-of-function concerns, Wuhan-linked grants, and the origins of COVID-19.

Now the clock is almost out.

Senator Paul has called on the Department of Justice to act before the five-year statute of limitations expires on potential charges related to Dr. Fauci’s May 11, 2021 congressional testimony. Paul has alleged that Fauci lied under oath when he denied that NIH funded gain-of-function research involving bat coronaviruses in Wuhan.

The Department of Justice has already indicted David Morens, a former senior adviser in NIAID’s Office of the Director, for allegedly concealing federal records during the COVID-19 pandemic. DOJ alleges that Morens and others worked to evade FOIA requests, hide communications from public view, use private email for government-related business, and suppress alternative theories regarding the origins of COVID-19.

That indictment raises the obvious question:

If Fauci’s own senior adviser is now facing federal charges tied to concealment of COVID-origin records, why has DOJ not acted on Senator Rand Paul’s criminal referral against Fauci himself?

We call on the Department of Justice to:

1. Immediately act on Senator Rand Paul’s criminal referral against Dr. Anthony Fauci.
2. Indict Dr. Fauci before the statute of limitations expires if the evidence supports charges related to false statements, perjury, obstruction, concealment of records, conspiracy, or any other applicable offense.
3. Publicly explain why DOJ has not acted sooner on Paul’s referral and whether political considerations, institutional protection, or the Biden pardon delayed accountability.
4. Review the legal validity and scope of President Biden’s preemptive pardon of Dr. Fauci, including whether it was personally authorized and whether it can lawfully shield conduct under review.
5. Expand the investigation beyond Fauci to include all NIAID, NIH, EcoHealth Alliance, Wuhan-linked grant participants, advisers, contractors, and federal officials involved in hiding records, evading FOIA, misleading Congress, or shaping public narratives while concealing material facts.
6. Preserve and release all legally available records related to NIH and NIAID funding, EcoHealth Alliance, Wuhan Institute of Virology subawards, gain-of-function definitions, COVID-origin communications, FOIA avoidance, and congressional testimony.
7. Prosecute every person the evidence supports, regardless of title, credentials, political protection, or institutional status.

This is not about revenge. It is about truth, equal justice, and restoring public trust.
Americans were told to shut up, comply, trust the experts, accept censorship, accept mandates, accept school closures, accept destroyed businesses, accept medical coercion, and accept the rewriting of public narratives in real time.

The true cost of COVID-19 was not only the virus itself. It was also the government response, the censorship, the economic devastation, the social damage, the educational loss, the mental health crisis, and the collapse of trust caused by officials who demanded obedience while hiding information.

If Dr. Fauci told the truth, the records should prove it.

If he lied to Congress, concealed material facts, or participated in a broader coverup, he must be held accountable before the statute of limitations expires.
