West Ashley lacks dedicated public pickleball courts despite growing community interest in the sport. The City of Charleston has proposed adding courts at Parkshore Park, but some nearby residents continue to oppose the project.

After years of planning and discussions with the neighborhood, the City has finally presented a revised proposal that addresses community concerns. The plan preserves the baseball field and mature trees, places the courts farther from nearby homes, limits play to daylight hours, and includes additional landscaping.

Now is a critical time for West Ashley and Charleston residents to make their voices heard. After years in the making, this project has reached an important milestone, and community support is essential to help move the proposal forward.

We are seeking 50 signatures from West Ashley and Charleston residents urging City Council to approve the revised Parkshore Park pickleball proposal and bring this much-needed recreational amenity to our community.
