Prakriti’s physical well-being has been severely compromised, with visible injuries including the loss of parts of her front teeth, inner tooth canal bleeding, and a swollen head. To make matters even more distressing, she suffers from severe vision problems causing blurred eyesight alongside frequent fatigues. She has been complaining about various concerning symptoms for months now ranging from loss of appetite to frequently fainting only to be neglected by the people who are meant to protect her.

But her pain extends beyond the physical aspect of abuse. Prakriti is trapped in a cycle of psychological abuse through manipulation and gaslighting. Her parents have stripped her off the basic necessities such as nutritious food and medical essentials, even stealing the money she earned from her part-time jobs ultimately making sure the facility sacks her. This malicious behavior leaves her in a state of despair and helplessness to fend for herself. A promising student with a commendable academic career ranking the highest in her classes for consecutive years, has not fuelled her parents to at least protect her academic well being, they've jeopardized her transportation money resulting in poor attendance. All in all, the domestic atmosphere has been elevated to a degree so intense that the abusers wish to bring an end to her free will. She's currently studying off an educational loan and her parents shun her from availing means to gather money to repay it.

Prakriti’s story is a terrifying reminder of the hidden abuse suffered by many. It’s easy to forget that behind closed doors, young individuals like Prakriti can be subjected to such horrors, but this should not be the case in today's world. We must act to protect her and others like her.
