Growing up near Pendle Hill, I always cherished the natural beauty and tranquility of its landscapes. This region, with its rolling hills and picturesque scenery, has been a constant source of inspiration and serenity for both locals and visitors alike. However, this cherished landscape is under threat, and it's up to us to stand up and protect it.

Recently, an unauthorised and unsightly building has been erected on the side of Pendle Hill, defying the planning rules that ensure our areas of natural beauty remain unspoiled. Despite the clear violation, those responsible have audaciously decided to appeal the enforcement notice issued by our diligent local planning officers, showing no regard for either community sentiment or the law. 

The planning authority, acting to preserve our cherished landscape, has already taken the necessary step by issuing an enforcement notice to remove this blemish. Yet without community backing, their efforts may fall short against those who disregard our planning laws. If this goes unchallenged, it sets a dangerous precedent—other unauthorised structures could soon sprout across our hillsides, marring the beauty we have long preserved. 

Our planning officers need our unwavering support to ensure the enforcement notice is upheld and the unauthorised building is dismantled. Through collective action and community endorsement, we can show the planning committee and the appeals board that the people of Barley and Burnley stand firmly against this unlawful encroachment.
