Support our teachers in their right to strike

Support our teachers in their right to strike
The Issue
I believe that strong public schools are the backbone of our community, shaping not only the future of our children but also the future of our entire community. Our hardworking teachers are at the heart of our educational system. Their dedication and commitment to nurturing young minds deserve our full support and appreciation.
Our teachers have always been there for our kids, guiding them through not just academic challenges but life lessons too. Now, they need our support more than ever. Our teachers are facing conditions that are straining their ability to provide the quality education our children deserve. Increased workloads, stagnant wages, and a lack of necessary resources are among the many challenges they face. This situation is untenable and cannot continue if we want to ensure the best for our students.
A potential strike might be on the horizon if these issues are not addressed. And while no one wants a strike and the disruptions it can cause, it's sometimes the only way to drive home the urgency of the situation to those in power. Strikes are not just about pay; they are about ensuring our schools have the resources they need and that our teachers can continue their incredible work without undue stress.
By supporting our teachers' right to strike, we are standing up for fair treatment, quality education, and the future of our schools. It's about equity, respect, and ensuring that our educational institutions have what they need to succeed. By signing this petition, you are sending a clear message to our school board: the community is behind our teachers.
Join me in supporting our teachers as they advocate for fair conditions that will ultimately benefit our children and strengthen our community. Sign this petition and show our local school board that we stand united with our educators.
Other ways you can help:
1- Write to the school board. Let them know you want our teachers to have a fair contract and that you support them if they need to strike.

2-Spread the word! Many people in our community may not know what’s happening. Talk to your friends and neighbors and let them know how they can support our teachers.
3-Attend school board meetings and make your voice heard. Go beyond times of crisis—stay informed about our schools and the people we elect to serve. Meetings are live-streamed, so you can watch from home. After the meeting, consider emailing your school board members with your thoughts.
