The Issue

My husband and I have pursued a dream many only read about. On a small patch of land in the serene landscape of West Wales, near a quaint village, we found our sanctuary. Here, we've embraced a self-sufficient lifestyle—growing our own food, harvesting rainwater, and generating our own energy. We strive to contribute to our community by sharing food and providing labor, ensuring we remain cherished neighbors while posing no burden on the state. We have now rescued over 70 hens from 'Fresh Start For Hens'. We nurse them back to health after a horrible start to their lives.

Our choice to live sustainably and in harmony with nature brings us joy beyond measure. We craft our own home from recycled materials, keep the land eco-friendly and vibrant, and foster diverse habitats. The tranquility of a simple, eco-conscious life allows us to enrich ourselves and those around us. We've been warmly embraced by our neighbors, thriving not just as a couple, but as part of a wider community.

Sadly, our dream faces a looming threat. If we are evicted from our land, not only would we become homeless, but our animals—an integral part of our life—would be without shelter too. We make no demands on public funds, yet our right to remain is challenged.

Our lifestyle is not just a choice; it's a commitment to the environment, a promise to live quietly, respecting the land and those around us. Help us continue our journey on this path. Support our right to live self-sufficiently and protect our way of life. Stand with us by signing this petition to secure our dream and prove that sustainable living has a rightful place in every community. Together, we can show that a compassionate, self-sustained existence is possible without harming the land, the people, or the state. Sign our petition today to preserve our future and our home.
