Support our photography and research project - The Night Doesn't Belong to Us
The Issue
The Night Doesn’t Belong to Us is a socially engaged photography and research project by Eilís Walsh and Maria McSweeney that aims to compare locations in and around Limerick city at day time and night and compare the level of safety, visually comparing how these locations look from day to night. These locations were put forward by women through a survey we shared on different social media platforms.
We want to provide this information publicly visually by plotting these locations on a virtual map. We hope to present our research to Limerick Council in the hopes that measures be put in place to potentially improve the safety of these locations at night for women and give women more access to Limerick at night.
We have conducted a survey, receiving 130+ responses, to identify unsafe locations in Limerick for women. If you would like to see some of those results we'd be happy to share them with you.
We are currently seeking funding for the project and gathering support from prominent members of the Limerick community.
Would you be interested in supporting this project?
Please sign if you are interested in vocalising your support for the project.
We would also appreciate a written note of support in the comments, but it is not mandatory.
