I am a parent of a young athlete whose life, like so many others, has been positively impacted by our local varsity softball coach. He has been instrumental in shaping not only her athletic talents but also her character and self-confidence. He has been accused of discrimination of age because he did not take an 8th grader to varsity for softball season 2024 and they still continue to try to tarnish his reputation and position.

Local softball hasn't just benefited my daughter, it touches all who engage - from players to parents, to spectators. Our coach’s dedication and passion for the game, his players, and our community is evident in every drill, each game, and all end-of-season celebration. He embraces a winning spirit while stressing the importance of sportsmanship and strong moral character.

According to the Women's Sports Foundation, high school athletics have a positive influence on girls’ lives including higher grades, lower dropout rates, and better health outcomes later in life. Our coach enhances these influences by emphasizing teamwork, resilience, and leadership.

I urge members of our local school board, parents, and community residents to support our varsity softball coach. Protect the opportunities for our children to grow, learn, and excel both on and off the field. Let us rally behind a coach who has given so much to our children and our community.
