Library Commission Appointment Results
Dear Petition Supporter,
The following is an update from tonight’s Board of Selectmen meeting.
Congratulations to Aaron Marcavitch Claire Kawalec and Despina Tartsinis on their appointment to the Kent Memorial Library Commission (KMLC). Additionally, thank you to everyone who turned out tonight to speak during the public comment period or who signed the petitions in support of our candidates. Your willingness to speak up is the most important reason why these great candidates are now able to make a positive impact on our community.
We are extremely disappointed that Jim Irwin Rick Stromoski, and Tess McCool were not appointed to the KMLC. It is disappointing that the Republicans on the Board of Selectmen continue to be unwilling to work in a bipartisan way to put the needs of the community first. Instead of appointing people with both the vision and practical experience to create positive change in our community, they appoint anyone who adheres to the party line.
Special thanks go out to Jim for his tireless service to our library and our community.
If you are angry or disappointed at some of the results from tonight, we need your help to work towards #change going forward. You can do this by donating to our Democratic Town Committee, volunteering with us, or stepping forward as a candidate for an appointed or elected position.
You may donate at this link on our website https://www.suffielddemocrats.com/donate/ or by mailing a check to Suffield Democratic Town Committee, PO Box 263, West Suffield, CT 06093.
