We, the undersigned members of the Hamilton Hill and Schenectady community, strongly support the Hamilton Hill Arts Center’s new Museum, Gallery, and Performance Center.

For nearly sixty years, the Arts Center has been the heartbeat of our neighborhood—where children grow into confident leaders, families gather in safety and pride, and the culture of the African Diaspora is celebrated and taught.

The new building will expand arts education, create performance and gallery spaces and become a shared hub for local nonprofits, including My Daughters and Me (MDAM), My Sons and Me (MSAM), Strong Owls, Inc. (women’s empowerment), Precious Sprouts day care, Black Dimensions in Art, and Create A Space Now. Together, these organizations will provide mentoring, family support, education, and empowerment, strengthening Hamilton Hill and the entire city of Schenectady.

This project is about equity, opportunity, and dignity. By investing in the Hamilton Hill Arts Center, New York will help ensure our community has the space and resources it needs to thrive.
