Support National Bullying Awareness Prevention Month!
1.) Sign the STAND UP Pledge! It only takes a second and, believe it or not, makes a big difference in sharing the impact of being an "upstander" to bullying. This 2-second exercise will ensure you know what an "upstander" means and why it's crucial.
2.) If you're on Facebook, please post this as your status message:
[Your name] thinks that no one should be teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look and believes that everyone deserves to feel safe inside and out of school. If you agree, please sign the Stand Up Pledge and post this message as your status for the rest of the week! @BullyBust 2009
(The "@BullyBust 2009" takes people to the BullyBust page where people can sign the pledge and pick up resources.)
3.) If you're an educator or counselor, please check out this collection of activities that can be used to promote upstander behavior: http://bullybust.org/activities.php
4.) If you're an educator or counselor, sign your school up for our free Partner Program. The program kicks off with participation in a school-wide bullying awareness activity: the Stand Up to Bullying YouTube Video Contest, in which teams of students will create short messages that promote upstander behavior. Participating schools receive step-by-step guidelines, best practices, and CSEE resources that make the activity fun, easy and participatory.
5.) Share resources, stories and statistics with OTHERS. You never know who may be suffering in silence. Spread the word.
Please sign this pledge if you're able to do any one of these quick, easy and impactful activities!
