Support Myrtle Beach's ONLY Hockey Rink!

The Issue

Hello local hockey & skating enthusiasts!

We need your help to show our community's strong support for the roller hockey rink at Grand Park Sports Complex in Myrtle Beach, SC.

For more than 30 years, hockey has been a part of our community and though we do not have an ice rink on the Grand Strand, we have been lucky enough for many years to have roller rinks to help provide a home for the sport locally.

Since 2010, The Market Common rink has been home to thousands of skaters and hockey players and we want to ensure this facility remains viable and able to be played on for years to come.

In recent years, our league (Grand Strand Youth Hockey) and the adult hockey league (Grand Strand Hockey) have experienced significant growth.

Because of this combined with the success of CCU Club Hockey and the continued influx of residents moving from hockey-rich communities, we know there is support for our sport locally and we want to make sure the City of Myrtle Beach, the Parks & Recreation Department and city council know it.

To keep our rink functioning and build toward future improvements, we need to prove to community leaders and city officials that there is a strong hockey community at The Beach, and that the potential is here for more — including more programming (dek hockey, pick-up games, new leagues, etc.), tournaments and additional events.

We are gathering signatures from people who use the rink for any purpose and locals who support game of hockey and realize the need for facilities locally.

The time to act is now.

Let's show the City of Myrtle Beach that we stand in favor of skating and hockey programs. Sign this petition to make your support known and help us keep our rink!
