Support my journey to live freely and safely

The Issue

As a queer teenager living in Egypt, I know firsthand the dangers of living in a country where homophobia is rampant and accepted by society. Despite not wanting to leave my family or my country, I am compelled to seek a life where I can safely love, live, and express my true self.

In Egypt, being queer is not just frowned upon; it is punishable by severe measures. Many like me have faced violence, life imprisonment, and even death just for existing as who they are. I have personally experienced harassment, assault, and public shaming simply because of my orientation and identity. The fear for my life and wellbeing is a daily reality.

I wish for a world where I can pursue my dreams – to go to school, study, and engage in the activities I love, like working out and enjoying simple pleasures such as eating without fear or prejudice. This petition is not a plea for free migration; it's a cry for help and support from those who can assist me in finding safety and the freedom to be myself without fear of persecution.

With your support, I aim to raise awareness of the harsh realities faced by queer individuals in countries with systemic homophobia like Egypt. Together, we can push for international attention, increase pressure on humanitarian organizations, and seek safer spaces for people like me.

One of the things I've been through,is that my school refused to educate me for having a long normal hair and even threatened to use violence to cut it for me,i have been sexually harassed by my class mates,I don't feel safe in any possible way

They got me a psychiatrist, claiming I'm not okay and there's something wrong with me and what that psychiatrist told me to is just pray,I don't believe God to be honest with respect to everyone I might only have a faith in Christianity but even if I wanted to be christian my family would literally disown me.

I'm forced to be someone I'm not and act in a way I'm not

Please sign this petition to show solidarity and support for my journey to freedom and a life free from fear and discrimination. Your signature can make a powerful difference.
