Every year muslim students are missing school so they can celebrate Eid. During this one day off, students could miss important assignments and work. Its very stressful coming back to school right after fasting and right after celebrating Eid only to find that you owe very important work.
Christians and Jewish people both have plenty of school holidays, but Muslims don't get a single day off for their holidays. 2 days off for Eid Al-fitr wouldn't be asking for much at all.
In Pennsylvania, there are 634k Muslims. Make things fair and give the people Islam a day off for just this one holiday.
If the school district was too make Eid a school holiday, it would make things easier for a lot of people.
