The Issue

LynLake Centers for Well-Being unionized with SEIU Healthcare MN & IA on June 2, 2026. As of October 13, 2026, LynLake's union bargaining team has made multiple efforts to collaborate with leadership and prioritize the union contract process. Our management has responded to this by:

  • Targeted discipline and even threats to terminate union leaders.
  • Putting union leaders on intensive, invasive Performance Improvement Plans not applied to other therapists.
  • Threatening to illegally block clinical supervisors from participating in the union, despite federal charges being filed with the National Labor Relations Board.
  • Contacting union therapists who speak against unfair management practices and accusing them of disrespect—without addressing the concerns they raise.
  • Explicitly discouraging community building and support-focused communication about the union.

Our priority as a union is supporting LynLake therapists so our clients can get the care they need. As part of our fight, we are working to establish more equitable working standards across our field. We are calling for mental health professionals—whether you’re in a union yet or not—to stand with us and tell our employer that these bad faith practices lead to worse outcomes for our clients and our profession. By signing this petition, you help LynLake leadership see:

  • Establishing a union contract in a timely manner is a priority.
  • Communication from the LynLake leadership team should be clear, responsive, and respectful.
  • Union bargaining must be done in good faith and without threat or imposing fear of retaliation for our bargaining team members.
  • As union members, LynLake clinicians should be regarded as a central part of the workplace with valuable input regarding the needs of our practice and community.
  • Our professional community has our backs as we fight for all of our rights with our union, SEIU Healthcare MN & IA.

Please sign this petition to help us illustrate the many voices supporting LynLake's union, whether you're a current or former employee, a fellow therapist, or an individual fighting back against private equity encroachment.

What is our union bargaining team fighting for?

  • LynLake was recently acquired by a private equity group, ARC Health. This group (which is primarily comprised of people who are not mental health professionals) is slowly taking over our organization. The bargaining team will demand more transparency about how—and how much—private equity is profiting off our labor.
  • LynLake is one of the largest group practices in the Twin Cities, yet fewer than 20% of employees have access to health insurance benefits. The bargaining team will demand better accommodations for employees.
  • While the cost of living has continued to skyrocket, LynLake has not offered cost-of-living increases to its employees. The bargaining team will demand higher compensation for those of us with boots on the ground, actively caring for our clients and community.
  • And more!
