Support Local Desert Safari Services in Dubai
The Issue
Dubai's vast, golden deserts have long been one of its most cherishable natural wonders, drawing tourists and locals into a world beyond the towering skyscrapers and bustling city life. For decades, local safari services have offered unforgettable experiences that showcase the beauty and culture of the Emirati desert. However, due to growing international competition and challenging local regulations, these traditional services are struggling to sustain themselves. It is essential to support our local desert safari businesses to preserve this unique aspect of our heritage.
Local desert safari operators are deeply rooted in their communities, often hiring skilled guides and drivers from the region who are better attuned to the land and its stories. By supporting these local services, we are empowering local economies and preserving the authentic cultural narratives that international competitors may overlook. Local operators typically offer more personalized and ethically responsible tours, ensuring safety and environmental consciousness while sharing true desert traditions.
Despite their value, local desert safari businesses face barriers like high operational costs, restrictive policies, and the challenge from well-financed global enterprises. If these issues remain unaddressed, we risk losing an integral part of Dubai's charm and cultural identity.
We urge the local authorities to recognize and support local desert safari businesses through measures that may include tax benefits, subsidies for sustainable practices, and amendments to market-entry policies that favor homegrown talent. Moreover, increased marketing initiatives to highlight the authentic appeal of local operators can ensure they thrive amid global competition.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a vital aspect of Dubai's cultural tourism and helping to maintain the delicate balance of its urban and natural grandeur. Join us in safeguarding the essence of Dubai's desert experiences for generations to come.
