Four weeks today we will be handing over this petition to IUPAC the people that oversee the naming of new elements, and we will ask them to change their naming criteria to make Lemmium a possibility. It is not a given but it is a fighting chance and the ability to take the argument to the next level. So we have four short weeks, to prepare our case, to make our case as to why this matters and how Lemmium can inspire young people and make the older ones smile. Four weeks to show why it is so important that we get our children interested and keep them interested in science and technology because all our futures depend on it. Lemmium is a small step towards that but it is an entertaining and engaging one and the teachers out there that are stuck teaching material that often doesn't engage will know how little things can make a difference. An if we get the chance we will build the best legacy to support this and create wonderful resources to inspire young people. So we have four weeks, loads to do, no money and an amazing but small bunch of dedicated volunteers - but we need more. So please get in touch if you want this to happen, if you want to feel involved if you want to do something in Lemmy's memory. The band are behind us and we know you are too.
