This article by Suzy Wrack provides clear details on the persistent efforts and correspondence that led FIFA President Infantino to finally write the Iranian football federation to stop the exclusion of Iranian women from stadiums.

I want to give credit and send appreciation to the collective efforts of Iranian activists and multi-sector stakeholders who have supported us by keeping pressure on FIFA to uphold its own human rights policy. We will see if Iran answers by allowing women into Azadi Stadium for the FIFA World Cup Qualifier on October 10.
