Support Ink Therapy Abilene's downtown location!
My name is Bailey Hyde, and I am the owner of Ink Therapy Abilene: an up-and-coming luxury, private tattoo studio looking to make its home in the beautiful Downtown Abilene area!
Since leaving Abilene in 2011, I spent several years studying psychology, eventually earning my Masters degree in 2019. I’ve found that as a tattoo artist, the skills I learned while studying psychology are indispensable—listening to clients wants and needs with an open mind, being able to comfort through both physical (and sometimes emotional) pain, as well as having a true emphasis for client comfort and trust is of the upmost importance to me.
For these reasons, I believe it's incredibly necessary for Ink Therapy Abilene to operate out of a location that strongly emphasizes a welcoming environment, as well as a sense of safety and cleanliness.
- Esthetically, we are hoping to emphasize a warm, inviting interior (modeled after famous psychologist Sigmund Freud’s own office) while still maintaining the upmost in hygienic standards.
- With a reception area that is as comfortable as it is attractive, we hope to give future clients a space to feel at ease while they wait to have their tattoo process started.
- As for the tattooing area itself, ease of use, cleanliness, and professionalism are the main goals. With each artist having their own individual working space, we hope to give client and artist the perfect space to feel at home, while also giving a feel of privacy that is sometimes necessary for certain tattoo locations.
Our studio has quite the list of requirements if we are going to live up to such a hefty dream, but we truly feel as if we've struck gold, with our proposed location!
We are currently working on gaining zoning approval for an amazing spot, located at 542 Hickory Street in Downtown Abilene, TX. This is where we need your help! Unfortunately, tattooing and tattoo culture has not always had the best reputation, and often creates a negative perception surrounding those in tattoo culture. We want to change that. And that change starts with being allowed to operate out of a beautiful and safe location; one that we have found at 542 Hickory Street.
By signing this petition, you are pledging support to allow Ink Therapy Abilene to gain zoning approval, and eventually operate, at 542 Hickory Street. Your support will help us prove to the City of Abilene that we do have the support of the community, and that this is indeed a welcomed new business!
