We believe all interested students should have the opportunity to participate in the MIT-e program—a hands-on, inquiry-based STEM experience that has a meaningful impact on student learning.

Currently, the admissions process and limited capacity can prevent motivated students from accessing this valuable opportunity. We urge the district to consider changes that make the program more inclusive, such as:

-Expanding capacity through additional cohorts or sessions
-Adopting a comprehensive and holistic admissions process that considers student interest and motivation, not just academic data

By making these changes, we can ensure more students benefit from the MIT-e program.
