After 158 years the Alameda County Fairgrounds has given a notice for all employees and horses to vacate on January 15, 2017! Help save these jobs and preserve a long standing tradition in Pleasanton.  Families and children will have to move during the school year as they were given less than a 60 day notice. Most of these families have lived on the backside for years!

We have a community rich in racing history. The future of Pleasanton horse racing and 250 jobs are seriously and sadly in jeopardy without any notice to the community or those that will be impacted. Most don't realize that there are so many people working at the Fairgrounds year round taking care of the horses. There are also over 40 trainers, not including Ambulance drivers, photographers, clockers and outriders losing their job too! Over 30 Children will also be displaced who live at the facility with their family.

We need to keep training year round at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton to save these jobs. The facility allows training to get horses ready to race. Without the Alameda County Fairgrounds there is no Northern California training center and most of the horses here will move out of State and a few will go to Golden Gate Fields or Santa Anita. 

Please support year round training and to keep thoroughbred horse racing in Pleasanton and save the 250+ jobs from leaving our community and the children in our local schools!
